A current college student myself, I know how to be an effective guide in academics. I attend Rutgers University, where I am working on a degree in Public Health. My focus here is on Nursing and Health Education. After I started college, I took my first position of employment tutoring disadvantaged high school kids in math and SAT preparation. The subjects I am most proficient in tutoring are mathematical in nature. I also enjoy tutoring English, Biology, and ESL. In my past, I have worked at a community health center, a soup kitchen, and for the Johnson & Johnson Company conducting psychological research.One of my favorite things to teach is the math component of the SAT. I posses a multitude of knowledge, strategies, and tips, that are intended to ease the stress and complication of the exam for the student. I can also relate to the students I interact with because I was once in their shoes and have not always been without struggle. In my earlier days of learning, I worked with many tutors myself. They taught me both beneficial and not so beneficial techniques that I carry with me today. Other than tutoring, I like to cook a good meal. You can also find me taking the ol' paint brushes for a spin, or busting a move on the yoga mat.
