Experience
I am a recent college grad with 7+ years of academic tutoring experience with students of all ages. My areas of emphasis are in Elementary-College English/Writing (includes research writing), Elementary/Middle School Math, Statistics, Standardized Test Prep, and Music Theory, Composition, and Performance. Throughout my time in undergrad, I have developed research skills through various independent and group research projects. I have presented at national conferences and have experience tutoring people on research writing and applied statistics. I also worked at my university's writing center and was a volunteer teacher/counselor in various professional settings (i.e. hospitals, community agencies, and schools). Throughout my academic, work, and volunteer experiences, I have completed multiple trainings on teaching/conflict resolution techniques and gained experiences working with children, adolescents, and adults with special needs. Overall, I love working with people of all ages and want to help individuals achieve and exceed their goals no matter the barriers that may present themselves. Other than my academic work, I also have 13+ years of experience playing guitar and bass and have extensive experience performing in professional ensembles around the Midwest. I have experience in a variety of styles (blues, jazz, classical, flamenco, folk, rock), a working knowledge of music theory, and am an active songwriter. I am open to giving music lessons to individuals or groups of any age and any level of experience. I am currently enrolled at Rutgers University to begin a Masters of Social Work program in Fall of 2016. I am pursuing the clinical social work track and want to work with adolescents and young adults in educational or community settings.
